We're not yet finished with the hot summer months in the desert, but at Disneyland, already it's time to think about Halloween. If nothing else, thoughts of October may work as a psychological diversion from the heat.
Tickets for the annual Mickey's Halloween Party went on sale weeks ago for annual passholders.
They go on sale to the general public Wednesday, and I always tell people, this is a great opportunity to go to Disneyland on a discounted admission price.
Tickets range from $63 to $77, depending on what night you go. Added bonus: Parking is included in your ticket price, and you get up to eight hours in the park.
Mickey's Halloween Party is held on select dates Sept. 26 through Oct. 31.
Costumes are encouraged; just check the website for any restrictions. I see families - parents too - all decked out in some pretty amazing costumes every time I go.
This is a fun night for all ages - nothing too spooky for the littlest guests.
There are trick-or-treat stations throughout the park along with special events, including dance parties where characters happily kick up their heels with guests, and a special fireworks display.
Most rides are open, including the major rides like Space Mountain - or Ghost Galaxy during the holidays - and Haunted Mansion, which is taken over by Jack Skellington and his friends throughout the holidays.
The number of people admitted is limited, but I won't lie, it still gets crowded. Even so, there are so many activities going on throughout the park that lines to rides move pretty fast. I have gone on a Friday when it is packed, but didn't wait more than 20 minutes for the major rides, even Space Mountain.
