Walk near the northwestern section of Disneyland and you might think you are hearing Imperial walkers from Star Wars, but you are only hearing the sounds of demolition.

Machines are tearing up the foundations of buildings beyond the berm that used to house support facilities for the theme park, but have been demolished to make way for the eventual construction of the 14-acre "Star Wars" land.

The original Roundhouse for the Disneyland Railroad has been demolished. It was used at the opening of the park in 1955 until a new building was built a few years later.

The actual start of construction of the new land has not been formally announced, but both the Empire and the Rebellion will show up in a few years.

Elsewhere at the Disneyland Resort, the Autopia is closer to reopening with Honda as its new sponsor. The Marvel characters Super Hero HQ is closed, with the characters moving to Disney California Adventure.

Over at the younger park, the "Frozen" singalong is in its last week of performances, as preparations continue for a new Broadway-style musical in the Hyperion Theater, and the Silly Symphony Swings stopped swinging for an extended refurbishment.

The Food & Wine Festival is still serving delectable treats and will until the end of April.

In Downtown Disney, Little Miss Matched shop is closed, and construction is underway for another Starbucks location -- near the AMC Theaters.

Finally, the Disneyland Monorail, which provides transportation to Tomorrowland and back from Downtown Disney, is closed for an extended refurbishment.
