As the holiday season approaches, Disney Imagineers get busy modifying some of the attractions at Disneyland for the holidays.

First up: It's a Small World. The boat ride with the infamous song is closed until Nov. 9 so lights and holiday music can be installed for its holiday overlay.

The Jungle Cruise will be closed Nov. 1-9 to be redressed as the Jingle Cruise, the annual holiday overlay featuring lots of fruitcake.

Space Mountain will close Nov. 1-2 to remove the Halloween-themed "Ghost Galaxy" overlay and return to the popular "Star Wars"- themed "Hyperspace Mountain" overlay.

During the first two weeks of November, the Halloween decorations will be removed and replaced with holiday lights. Christmas trees will also be placed, with tall ones in Town Square at Disneyland and in the circle at the end of Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure.

Christmas trees and decorations will also adorn many of the other lands and hotels too, along with a giant Gingerbread House inside the lobby of the Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.

The "Paint the Night" parade will return for a limited holiday engagement at Disneyland from Nov. 18 through Thanksgiving weekend. It will also be running down Main Street, U.S.A. during the Christmas holiday season. The nighttime parade made its debut last year as part of the park's 60th anniversary celebration. The Main Street Electrical Parade will return to Disneyland sometime next year.

Except during the busy holiday seasons, Fastpasses are no longer needed for those wishing to see "Frozen - Live at the Hyperion." But park officials at Disney California Adventure suggest that guests arrive at the theater approximately one hour before show times to get a choice seat.

Other events coming up include the CHOC Walk in the Park fundraiser, which takes place early in the morning Oct 30.

An unofficial event called Dapper Days, takes place at the resort Nov. 5 -6. During that weekend, many visitors dress up in their "dapper" best for their visit.

Run Disney will hold its 2016 Super Heroes Half Marathon Weekend Nov. 10-13, it features a 5K, a 10K and a half marathon in the early-morning hours during the four-day event.

Most of the resort's holiday decorations and entertainment will start Nov. 10, including a new version of "World of Color" at Disney California Adventure, and holiday-themed fireworks at Disneyland during the busier weeks around Thanksgiving, and the two weeks from Christmas to New Year's Day.
