Popcorn is great -- but the containers are, too?

Friday was the debut of the Mickey-Mouse-balloon-shaped popcorn buckets, and park-goers waited in long lines at popcorn carts around the park just to get the blue, red and purple varieties for $12.50 a pop.

In January, the official Disney Parks blog posted an online item featuring the buckets -- so fans were ready.

Gretchen Davison, 21, works at Walt Disney World in Florida and chose to vacation with her family in Anaheim. Buying one of each of the bucket styles was on her agenda.

She waited two hours to get them.

"I don't usually care about popcorn buckets, but I love Mickey balloons," Davison said. "I have a section of my family room dedicated to Mickey celebration and balloon decor, so I needed to have them."

Blake Gilmore, a Phoenix, Ariz., resident, collects Mickey Mouse popcorn buckets, and he made it a point to seek out the balloon buckets on this trip.

"I always wanted a Mickey balloon when I came here as a kid," Gilmore said. "I never got one back then, but I'll have these for good."

While many of the bucket buyers sought to add them to their collections, some looked to make a profit by re-selling them online.

Around 10 a.m. Friday, a set of all three bucket styles sold on eBay for $170. An hour later, a single blue bucket sold for $50. By 2 p.m., single bucket listings on eBay ranged from $50 to $100.

Long Beach resident Jessica Alcayde, who likes to re-purpose her popcorn buckets to hold snack foods or office supplies, said she wasn't surprised some people were looking to sell the buckets.

"It's Disneyland," Alcayde said. "People see collectors items and look for ways to turn a profit."

Fans were wrapped around Disneyland's Town Square to get the Cinderella's-carriage container, too. It cost about $15.

Michele Maggi and Arlene Bates, of Aliso Viejo, waited 15 minutes to buy one.

"It's worth it," Bates said.

Here's some reaction from Disney visitors on Friday:

Amy Horton, 39, of Phoenix, said the show was great. She didn't know much about Walt Disney but now she does.

"We know his name and his movies but we never really know about the man," she said. "I learned a lot about him and what he has meant to Disneyland."

Julisa Carrera, 35, of Rancho Cucamonga

"It's amazing. It's a great tribute to Walt Disney."

Cherie Olgin, 44, Bakersfield

"We'll definitely be back to watch that several more times. I'm not sure how the 75th anniversary will top this."

Chris Magallanes, 18, Fremont

"The Electrical Parade may have had more charm, but this was just as good. It's a worthy replacement."

Philippa Hawker, 21, Irvine

"My favorite part of the parade was actually the music, modern fusion with the classic soundtrack to the original Main Street electrical parade. And the engineering of the moving floats was mesmerizing."

Here is some reaction to the Disneyland Forever fireworks:

Ray Lau, 40, Cerritos

"They took elements of the Halloween fireworks, which are usually exclusive, and showed how amazing they are to everyone. The way the lights come down makes you feel like you're in the center of the show, like it's interactive."

Erica Gloriani, 40, Cerritos

"I like you could see images on the castle and Matterhorn. It was really pretty."

Carol Shea, 70, Redlands

"It was beyond amazing. I saw things I never thought I'd ever see. People who don't come at least once to see these fireworks, they're missing out."
