Disneyland provided a lot of answers about what the Anaheim theme park will be like now that state pandemic restrictions have been lifted, but a lot of questions remain about what will change over the next few months as the phased reopening continues.

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will increase attendance, drop mask requirements for vaccinated visitors, discontinue physical distancing and continue advance reservations as the state ends most COVID-19 health and safety measures on Tuesday, June 15.

But many questions still linger about ride capacity, masks for kids, character meet-and-greets, parkhopping, virtual queues, FastPasses and much more. We got answers to 10 key questions below.

The trams between the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures and the parks will remain suspended for now. Visitors will walk to and from the parks and garages along the tram route.

The Toy Story parking lot reopens on Friday, June 18. All visitors — regardless of vaccination status — will need to wear a mask while on bus transportation between the parks and the Toy Story lot.

2) Will rides and attractions return to full capacity?

Disneyland will load more riders on rides and visitors into attractions. Indoor queues will once again be used now that state restrictions have been lifted.

Since the parks reopened on April 30, Disneyland and DCA were required to keep indoor rides at 25% capacity while outdoor rides could accommodate more riders provided social distancing mandates were followed. Indoor attraction queues could not be used under state COVID-19 guidelines.

3) Do kids 11 and under who can’t be vaccinated yet need to wear a mask?

All visitors who haven’t been vaccinated — including kids — must continue to wear masks in all Disneyland indoor locations — including restrooms and attraction queues. The exception: Kids 2 years old and under don’t need to wear a mask.

Disneyland will no longer require masks for fully vaccinated visitors starting on June 15. Unvaccinated Disneyland visitors are expected to continue to wear a mask — except while dining.

4) Can you hug Mickey, Goofy and other Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters?

Not yet. Character encounters will remain socially distanced for now to protect Princess Tiana, Captain Jack Sparrow and Black Widow.

Disneyland’s physical distancing rules mean visitors can’t hug Mickey Mouse, high-five Goofy or dance with Cinderella. Traditional meet-and-greet photo opportunities with princesses, superheroes and villains have been replaced with socially distanced wave-and-play impromptu moments.

5) Will the Avengers Campus standby queue and Web Slingers virtual queue continue?

The popular new Web Slingers ride will continue to use a virtual queue.

Disney California Adventure deployed a standby queue to control access to Avengers Campus when the new Marvel themed land debuted on June 4.

Six-hour lines to get into Avengers Campus on opening day have dropped significantly, to an average of one to four hours depending on the time of day and day of the week.

We will have to wait and see if Disney continues to use the Avengers Campus standby queue on a regular or sporadic basis going forward.

6) Do parkhoppers still need to wait until 1 p.m.?

Disneyland and DCA visitors still won’t be able to bounce between the parks until later in the day.

Parkhopper tickets currently allow visitors to switch from one park to the other starting at 1 p.m.

That means Disneyland parkhoppers can’t take part in the 7 a.m. Web Slingers virtual queue distribution and DCA parkhoppers are blocked out of the early morning virtual queue for Rise of the Resistance.

7) Will Indiana Jones Adventure continue to use a virtual queue?

Indiana Jones Adventure will return to a standby queue starting today, June 15, and drop the temporary virtual queue that was used after Disneyland reopened on April 30.

Indy has a massive indoor queue that could not be used under state COVID-19 guidelines that have now ended.

Disneyland deployed a virtual queue on Indiana Jones Adventure to reduce the length of the socially distanced standby queue for the popular Adventureland attraction. The park initially used the upstairs Jungle Cruise queue as an overflow line for Indiana Jones Adventure while the shuttered water ride underwent an extensive makeover.

8) Will the Rise of the Resistance pre-shows return?

The full Rise of the Resistance ride experience is returning today.

Disneyland will restore the pre-show elements that were removed from the 20-minute attraction to get the ride under a 15-minute runtime — which was required by state COVID-19 guidelines.

9) Will more Disneyland and DCA attractions reopen soon?

A dozen Disneyland and DCA rides, shows and attractions will return in the next month as the parks increase attendance capacity and drop coronavirus measures with the end of COVID-19 restrictions at theme parks in the state.

What’s returning? Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Matterhorn Bobsleds, Jungle Cruise and several other attractions are due back soon.

10) When will FastPasses, MaxPasses, Extra Magic Hours and Magic Mornings return?

Not right now. The FastPass and MaxPass services were suspended due to the impact of COVID-19 on park operations.

Disneyland will have updates on FastPasses, MaxPasses, Extra Magic Hours and Magic Mornings at a later date.

That goes for pretty much everything else that changed during the pandemic that hasn’t returned to normal yet at Disneyland.
