Take in all the sights on Main Street from atop this double-decker bus. Main Street vehicles, provide one way transportation between Town Square and Central Plaza.
In the summer of 1956 a huge double-decker bus call the OmniBus was added to the roster of Main Street Vehicles. It was supplemented by a second Omnibus on Christmas Day 1957. Modeled after the big buses that toured Manhattan in the 1930s. The Omnibus is fully capable of today's freeway speeds. Built by Bob Gurr the Disneyland Omni buses looked old but contained modern machinery. In fact, the only true antique on it is the old-fashioned horn.

From Main Street Vehicles Story Guide 1966:
The omnibus is a very nearly authentic reproduction of Fifth Avenue busses which were the main mode of transportation in turn-of-the-century New York. Some are still in operation there. Only one authentic part — an old electric klaxon horn — is used. The drop frame chassis is from a modern-day truck, and the bus has both power steering and power brakes. Certain adaption's in height and seating to provide greater comfort, safety, and convenience for our guests were made by the Studio designers, but the busses are as nearly authentic as possible. The motor takes advantage of modern improvements which provide for better operation — and no smog.
