State officials are investigating the death of a Disneyland employee who died Friday after falling off of a golf cart at the park and hitting her head, officials with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health told KTLA.

Bonnye Lear, 60, of Fullerton, was seriously injured on June 5 after falling off a moving golf cart in the backstage area of Critter Country. Leer died from her injuries on Friday, officials told KTLA.

Lear was an administrator for Club 33, the exclusive members-only dining club located above the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction at Disneyland.

Anaheim police detectives are also investigating the traffic collision.

Disneyland is required to report any serious injury or fatality to Cal/OSHA within eight hours and preserve any physical evidence related to the accident, according to the organization.

The theme park resort hasn’t announced any safety protocol changes involving golf carts after the accident.

“We are heartbroken by the loss of Bonnye and offer our sincere condolences to everyone who cared for her,” Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock said in a statement on Friday.

“At this time, we are focused on supporting her family and our cast members through this tragic event and making sure they have the resources they need.”
