The Happiest Place on Earth has multiple upcoming changes set for the new year, but it won’t be losing any pixie dust. Looking forward, there are a number of things Disneyland guests can expect in 2026. To help you plan your next Disney visit, take a look at the changes below.

1. Disneyland Guests Will Lose One Perk and Gain Another

Starting on January 5th, 2026, resort guests will no longer be able to enter the parks 30 minutes early. Those checked into a Disneyland Resort hotel will instead be offered one Lightning Lane pass, eligible at any Lightning Lane Multi Pass attraction. This perk will be available after guests check-in, or shortly after 7:00 a.m. on the day you arrive.

Beginning on the same date, Disneyland will also be closing the private California Adventure entrance for hotel guests

2. A Toddler-Favorite Character Is Coming

If you’re frequently queuing up Bluey on Disney+, you (and your little one!) are in luck: Bluey and her little sister Bingo will be making their first appearance at the park in the interactive show “Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” opening at the Fantasyland Theater in March.

3. Construction Is Underway on Several Attractions

Disneyland is continuing construction on a number of future attractions including Avengers: Infinity Defense, Stark Flight Lab, and a Coco-themed ride. The park is also continuing to develop plans for an Avatar-themed land.

As part of the continued DisneylandForward project, Disneyland has also filed permits to start construction on new parking structures.

4. Existing Rides Are Closing or Evolving To make space for the Avatar area of the park, Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be closing in early 2026. Meanwhile, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run will feature a new storyline in May of 2026 that includes fan favorites Din Djarin and Grogu.

The Stars Wars updates continue through April, when Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will showcase new storylines that take visitors through the Galactic Civil War and New Republic, as well as the age of the Resistance and First Order. Visitors will also be greeted by fan-favorite characters like Darth Vader, Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker, all to the tune of scores from legendary composer John Williams.

5. The Anniversary Celebrations Continue

In honor of the Park’s 70th anniversary, Disneyland will have Disneyland After Dark celebrations on March 3 and 5, hosting guests until the early hours of the following morning. These events will run from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. and ticket prices start at $159 per guest for anyone ages 3 and up. The ticket includes your admission to Disneyland Park starting at 6 p.m., and the after-hours event promises “nostalgic entertainment,” iconic character appearances, and signature food and drinks.

Later this summer, Disney is wishing the United States a happy 250th birthday with a modification to Soarin’ Around the World. For a limited time, the attraction will become Soarin’ Across America.
