Disneyland updated Oga’s Cantina and reportedly removed a reference to Disney World’s now-closed Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser hotel

The change is part of a timeline expansion coming to the park's Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land that will include more eras and characters from the whole franchise

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, an immersive hotel experience in Orlando, closed in 2023 just over a year after it opened

Disneyland has removed a nod to the shuttered Galactic Starcruiser hotel during a refresh of its Star Wars-themed land

The Anaheim, Calif. park has been making some changes to various experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge as it prepares to expand the timeline the land represents to include beloved characters from the original movie trilogy.

One reported change is the removal of a reference to Disney World’s now-defunct hotel previously on display inside Oga’s Cantina. At the restaurant, guests are transported to one of the Outer Rim's notorious watering holes to enjoy snacks and alcoholic beverages, and listen to some tunes courtesy of droid DJ R-3X.

While the refreshed decorations and furniture inside the venue appear mostly the same following the refurbishment, a notice board by the door has been updated to better reflect the new timeline, according to the fan-run Disney blog WDW News Today, which shared before-and-after photos.

According to the blog one message on the board previously read: “Mechanic Wanted! Experience with Chandrilan class 1 starships required. Ability to speak Shyriiwook a plus. Contact Captain R. Keevan of the Halcyon, CSL.”

The Halcyon is the luxury ''starcruiser'' ship that the immersive hotel experience at Disney World took place inside.

This message and one other was reportedly replaced by two new ones, all of which were in the fictional written language used in the franchise, called Aurebesh.

The new messages reportedly include: “Now Hiring, Cantina Manager Inquire at bar! No questions, including why the last one ‘quit,’” and “Make Some Quick Credits! Sell your Surplus! Imperial, Rebel, Republic, or Separatist Black Spire Outpost will buy it all!”

The elimination of the Halcyon reflects Disneyland’s timeline expansion coming to Galaxy’s Edge next month, which will allow guests to experience more eras and iconic characters depicted in the franchise.

“Beginning April 29, 2026, visitors will be invited to immerse themselves in different points of the Star Wars saga inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland park as they never have before,” Disney Parks Blog wrote in January.

''Black Spire Outpost will roll back in time several decades,'' so visitors will have the opportunity to spot Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa, Han Solo, Darth Vader and more. Meanwhile, the area around Rise of the Resistance will continue to be set in the Age of the Resistance from the most recent three films and Rey can still be found there.

The timeline expansion will not be happening at Disney World for the time being.

The removal of the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser reference at Oga’s Cantina comes more than two years after the hotel officially closed in September 2023.

When it first opened in March 2022, the immersive accommodation offered fans a unique experience that was part hotel stay, part interactive role playing experience. However, the hotel quickly drew criticism due to its hefty price tag, with prices reportedly starting at $4,800 for two people.

Additionally, reports at the time indicated that visitor interest in the immersive hotel experience which took guests on a three-day, two-night ''voyage'' aboard the Halcyon wasn’t meeting expectations

As a result, the company announced in May 2023 that Galactic Starcruiser would close that September. In February 2025, PEOPLE confirmed the structure, located just behind Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios park in Orlando, would be repurposed as an office space for Walt Disney Imagineering.
