Disneyland raised prices on the MaxPass mobile app 33% as the Anaheim theme park announced that the new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run attraction in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will soon join the lineup of rides on the FastPass system.

The cost to use Disney’s digital MaxPass system, which lets visitors book FastPass attraction times via a mobile app, will rise to $20 per day.

The MaxPass price increase was part of Disneyland’s broader ticket price hike today that raises prices on some single- and multi-day tickets as well as all annual passes as the Anaheim theme park prepares for the grand opening of the Marvel-themed Avengers Campus this summer.

While paper FastPasses issued at the attractions are still free, Disneyland introduced a new MaxPass app in 2017 that allows visitors to digitally collect FastPasses. The park raised the MaxPass fee from $10 to $15 per visit in early 2019. The MaxPass add-on for annual passholders is now $125 (up from $100).

Visitors are enjoying the convenience of Disney MaxPass because it allows them to do even more during their day, Disneyland officials said.

The Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run flight simulator has not offered FastPass access during its first 8 months of operation since the Star Wars-themed land debuted. Similarly, the new Rise of the Resistance dark ride in Galaxy’s Edge does not currently offer FastPass access while the attraction employs a virtual queue boarding group system.

Two other attractions join the FastPass system today: Autopia at Disneyland and Monsters Inc.: Mike and Sulley to the Rescue at Disney California Adventure. Autopia previously offered FastPass access until 2015 when the service was halted during the renovation of Star Wars Launch Bay. The Monsters Inc. ride at DCA seldom has a line longer than 10 to 15 minutes.

Disney has not yet announced when Smugglers Run will be joining the FastPass/MaxPass system, only saying the Galaxy’s Edge attraction will be “coming soon” to the lineup.

The addition of the three rides brings the total of FastPass/MaxPass attractions to more than 20 at Disney’s two Anaheim parks.
