The familiar voices that have welcomed visitors to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure for decades will soon be changing as the husband-and-wife team behind the daily park announcements are departing after their contracts were not extended.

Disneyland park announcer Bill Rogers and Disney California Adventure park announcer Camille Dixon will no longer be recording new park announcements for the Disneyland Resort, according to Disneyland officials.

Rogers has been the voice of Disneyland for the last 32 years while Dixon has been the voice of Disney California Adventure for 11 years.

Disneyland has made the decision to move forward with new voices for park announcements at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as contract renewals approach for voice talent, according to Disneyland officials.

Disneyland is thankful and grateful to Rogers and Dixon for sharing their voice talents with guests throughout the years, according to Disneyland officials.

Rogers became the official voice of Disneyland in 1991 after the retirement of Jack Wagner, the original voice of Disneyland.

Dixon became the official voice of Disney California Adventure in 2012 as the opening of Cars Land and Buena Vista Street approached. She had done occasional DCA announcements since Disneyland’s sister park opened in 2001.

The announcements for each park include everything from the morning rope drop and the evening farewell to upcoming parades and canceled fireworks shows due to inclement weather.

“I think I’ve said ‘Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls’ about 90,000 times,” Rogers told the Orange County Register in 2016.

In 2021, Disneyland replaced announcements that began “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls” with the more gender-inclusive “Hello friends.”

Both voice-over actors have occasionally done live announcements at the theme parks during movie premieres, holiday events and seasonal festivals.

Disneyland resort visitors may still continue to hear Rogers and Dixon’s voices on some theme park recordings at this time, according to Disneyland officials.

Rogers said that the role of the Disneyland announcer is a combination of grandfather, ringmaster and authority figure.

“I learned early on that the park announcer is speaking to everyone, but also to just one person,” Rogers said.

The couple met in 2000 during a recording session and were married 10 years later.

The husband-and-wife team splits their time between Highland and Utah where they have home studios for working remotely.

Rogers and Dixon have done announcements for Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Epcot as well as D23 and Disney Vacation Club events.

Throughout their careers, they’ve also done voice-over and announcer work for car makers, grocery stores, MLB teams and local TV stations.
