Art of Animation was an exhibit promoting Disney's own movies. It was basically the same as several other Art of Animation exhibits that had already been touring the world to build excitement for Sleeping Beauty the 1959 movie that was at the time Disney's most expensive production ever.
Walt Disney created this exhibit after making Sleeping Beauty. Two traveling versions of this exhibit went on tour throughout the United States beginning in 1958 and to the Far East and Europe.
