A Disneyland employee who stripped off his shirt and jumped into the Rivers of America on a hot summer day surprised and amused visitors strolling along the manmade waterway normally bustling with sailing ships, riverboats, rafts and canoes.
A Disneyland cast member briefly entered the Rivers of America on Thursday, July 23 and quickly made his way backstage after exiting, according to Disneyland officials.

The Disneyland custodial employee threw his keys and walkie talkie into the Rivers of America before jumping into the water himself around 1 p.m. on Thursday, according to social media videos.
“Hopefully they’re alright,” Pixie Dust Archive wrote on TikTok.
Social media video posts showed the shirtless Disneyland employee leisurely floating on his back in the Rivers of America near the River Belle Terrace restaurant.
The cast member, Disney parlance for an employee, swam freestyle for about 100 yards before climbing out of the muddy brown-dyed water near Tiana’s Palace restaurant in the distinctive white pants of the Disneyland custodial crew.
“It is not known if he was disgruntled or if he was simply overheated,” according to WDW News Today.
No watercraft passed the Disneyland employee during his brief swim across from the “Fantasmic” stage on Tom Sawyer Island.
Temperatures soared to 90 degrees at Disneyland on Thursday as inland Orange County remained under a severe heat advisory, according to the National Weather Service.
