Disneyland has quietly rolled back unpopular price hikes on already expensive lightsabers and droids in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge that were instituted during the final months of Disney’s former CEO Bob Chapek’s tenure.

Disneyland has dropped prices on the lightsaber-building experience at Savi’s Workshop from $250 to $220 and on the astromech-assembling experience at Droid Depot from $120 to $100.

Disneyland has adjusted pricing on the lightsaber-building and droid-assembling experiences in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge after further evaluation and guest feedback, according to Disneyland officials.

Disneyland increased prices 20% on the lightsaber and droid building experiences in October, just a month before Chapek was fired by Disney and replaced by former CEO Bob Iger.

The price reductions bring the twin Star Wars experiences back to their previous prices before the October hikes.

“While that price increase didn’t last very long, we have to wonder why it really went up in the first place,Were there too many people trying to make reservations? Are there now not enough reservations? Did the price increase scare away potential guests? For now, we’ll gladly take the price cut.”

The Savi’s Workshop experience cost $200 and the Droid Depot experience cost $100 when Galaxy’s Edge opened in 2019 at Disneyland.

Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida still offers the lightsaber-building experience at $250 and the droid-assembling experience at $120.

Price increases were a continual source of complaints for Disneyland and Disney World visitors during Chapek’s reign at the helm of the Disney company.

In early January, Disney officials announced Disneyland will offer nearly two months of dates in 2023 with daily tickets at $104. That’s about 50% more dates at the lowest price for a one-day, one-park admission to the Anaheim theme park.
