Chewbacca will wear his ceremonial red robe while carrying a glowing Life Day orb in Black Spire Outpost as Disneyland celebrates the Wookiee holiday with a new menu lineup of Star Wars-inspired food and drinks.

Star Wars fans will celebrate Life Day for a limited time starting on Friday, Nov. 14 at the Anaheim theme park with a menu of themed food at Docking Bay 7, Oga’s Cantina, Kat Saka’s Kettle and the Milk Stand.

Chewbacca will make meet-and-greet photo op appearances while wearing his traditional red robe in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge starting on Monday, Nov. 17 the official date of Life Day according to StarWars.com.

Most Star Wars fans are familiar with Life Day through the delightfully bad “Star Wars Holiday Special” that first aired on Nov. 17, 1978 marking the Life Day celebration date, according to StarWars.com.

Life Day, which traces its roots back to the Wookiee planet of Kashyyyk, celebrates the life-giving and life-affirming powers of the Tree of Life. During the Life Day holiday season, Wookiees dress in traditional red robes, gather around a trimmed tree and exchange gifts with relatives.
