Disneyland is about to change how Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge actually feels when you’re walking through it.
Starting April 29, 2026, Batuu isn’t tied to just one timeline anymore. Instead, it’s pulling from multiple eras. The Galactic Civil War. The New Republic. The Age of the Resistance. All of it, layered together in one place.
And honestly… this is something fans have been asking for since the land opened.
We already learned Han Solo and Leia Organa are on the way, but now we’re seeing just how big this shift really is. They’ll be joined by Luke Skywalker and Chewbacca, giving the land a much stronger original trilogy presence.
And then there’s Darth Vader.
Yes, really.
He’ll be on Batuu with Stormtroopers, actively searching for Luke. At the same time, Luke will be moving through the outpost looking into the Force, kyber crystals, and lightsaber lore. Leia is expected near the Millennium Falcon, pulling guests into the story, while Han… will be doing his thing around the ship and the cantina.
It’s a lot happening at once. But that seems to be the point.
Other characters aren’t going anywhere. The Mandalorian and Grogu, Ahsoka Tano, Rey, and R2-D2 will still be part of the land, which means you could go from one era to another just by walking a few steps.
The atmosphere is changing too.
Disney is adding music from John Williams’ original scores throughout the land. Not just background noise actual recognizable themes. You’ll hear the Main Title, The Imperial March, and other familiar tracks as you move through Batuu. Even Oga’s Cantina is leaning into it with the classic “Cantina Band.”
Some of the shops are getting updates as well.
First Order Cargo is becoming Black Spire Surplus, with items pulled from different points in the Star Wars timeline. Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities will rotate its displays. Droid Depot is shifting its story to an earlier generation of builders working on BB-style droids.
It’s not a full overhaul. The core experiences are still there. You can still fly the Falcon. You can still take on the First Order in Rise of the Resistance. You can still grab blue milk and a Ronto Wrap.
That part isn’t changing.
What is changing is how the land tells its story.
Disney says that some of these updates may start showing up before the official date, but everything is set to come together on April 29.
And for the first time since Galaxy’s Edge opened, it really feels like the entire Star Wars saga has a place there.
