As fall has arrived and October is just around the corner, Halloween and autumn festivities are in full swing at Disneyland. From new entertainment to seasonal foods, merchandise and more, get into the “spirit” all over Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, Calif.
Disney Halloween Time entertainment
When it comes to seasonal entertainment, there’s plenty to choose from throughout the resort. In Disneyland Park, catch Mickey and his friends along with a slew of villains in “Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade” along the parade route. This brand-new offering will delight guests of all ages as a new float and Main Street vehicles decked out for the season roll throughout the park.
Over at Disney California Adventure, “Mickey’s Trick and Treat” show is geared toward kids around the Disney Junior age. Young guests will love getting up and dancing with Mickey and the gang. This offering was previously only available during the hard ticketed Oogie Boogie Bash after-hours event. For the first time, guests can now enjoy it during regular park hours.
Celebrate Dia de los Muertos with characters from “Coco” over at Plaza de la Familia in Disney California Adventure. Along with crafts, photo ops and specialty food comes “The Storytellers of Plaza de la Familia Celebrate The Musical World of Coco!,” a new show for the 2024 season.
Once the sun sets, you’ll want to see the “Halloween Screams” nighttime spectacular in Disneyland Park. Enjoy spooky projections and effects on Sleeping Beauty Castle, Main Street U.S.A., it’s a small world, and Rivers of America. On select nights, fireworks are included in the show for an extra bang. Guests wearing their MagicBand+ will feel the pulses and see blinking lights designed to the beats of the spectacular.
Spooky décor and characters
The full resort is decked out in seasonal décor. Take note of the traditional black & orange Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland Park while Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure features more modern purple Halloween vibes. Mickey and the gang are dressed in their new Halloween costumes in Town Square for great holiday photo ops.
One can’t-miss land full of Halloween decorations is Cars Land. While visiting Radiator Springs, keep your eyes out for favorite “Cars” characters donning their Halloween costumes. Lightning McQueen, Mater and others celebrate Haul-oween in their own unique way.
But the Disneyland Halloween decorating goes far beyond the parks. Be sure and walk through Downtown Disney for pumpkins, ghosts, character statues and more. Plus, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa features a brand-new edible centerpiece as Snow White’s Evil Queen is seen in her witch form casting a spell over her wicked cauldron.
Halloween overlays of favorite attractions
If it’s spooky rides you’re looking for, don’t forget to check out the return of Haunted Mansion Holiday in New Orleans Square along with Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree in Cars Land, plus Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark in Avengers Campus.
Disneyland Halloween Time food
Halloween would never be complete without treats, and there is a whole slew of them for you to enjoy. The Ursula Shake returns to Schmoozies in Disney California Adventure, and you can head over to Disneyland for the Toontown Fall Harvest Pumpkin Iced Tea.
If you’re looking for something a bit heartier, check out the new Philly Potato Dog, a baked potato topped with an all-beef hot dog, thinly sliced beef, peppers, pepperoncini, provolone, and cherry spread at Refreshment Corner on Main Street U.S.A.
If your taste buds seek some serious heat, head over to Flo’s V8 Café in Cars Land for the Mango-Habanero Chicken Strips tossed in mango-habanero sauce, topped with green onions, and served with steak fries drizzled with ranch dressing. These have a serious spice kick to them.
There are so many new and returning Halloween foods around the entire resort that you won’t be able to try them all, even if you ate some every day through Halloween.
Disneyland Halloween Time merchandise
Luckily for you, you don’t need to leave all this Halloween fun at the Disneyland Resort. There are a bunch of Halloween merchandise options available to take home with you. Whether it’s a spirit jersey, plush, decorations or more, there’s plenty to choose from. Some of the new wardrobe even glows in the dark making it the perfect outfit for a night of trick-or-treating.
This is all just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much to do at Disneyland Resort during the Halloween season. All this fun is available through October 31, 2024 with Plaza de la Familia offerings remaining through November 2. Certain seasonal food offerings will be staying even a bit longer, so pace yourself. Get spoopy this Halloween season at the Disneyland Resort.
