Disneyland is testing cashless payments at 25% of its outdoor food vendors starting in late April

Payment options include credit cards, mobile payments and Disney gift cards, with signs marking cashless locations

The move follows similar changes at Walt Disney World in October 2025

Disneyland and Disney California Adventure are testing out cashless payments.

Beginning in late April, a select few of the outdoor food vendors will accept credit cards, mobile payments, or Disney gift cards. The test launched across a little over 25% of the parks' outdoor vending carts, and each will have signs to notify patrons they're cashless.

Vendors selling fresh popcorn, churros, pretzels and fruit will continue to accept cash.

Mickey Visit was the first to report the news, with photos capturing the new signs: “CASHLESS LOCATION Please pay with credit card, Disney gift card, or mobile payment. Disney gift cards are available at your nearest merchandise store.”

This decision comes six months after Walt Disney World implemented a similar change for select outdoor vending locations across the Florida theme parks in October 2025, according to WDW News. The Disney parks transition follows the cashless transition at SeaWorld and Six Flags parks nationwide.

The cashless payment test was implemented nearly a year after Disneyland celebrated its milestone 70-year anniversary. The festivities began on May 16, 2025, and are continuing through summer 2026.

The theme is “Celebrate Happy!” and includes new parades, shows, decorations, merch and more. Jennifer Magill with Disney Live Entertainment said the park has ''a party atmosphere.''

The creative director of Disney Live Entertainment, Susanna Tubert, described Disneyland's new projection show as a “Tapestry of Happiness,” and a ''love letter to all these Disneyland iconic experiences.”

Disney California Adventure Park has also featured a nighttime water show, “World of Color Happiness,” which includes appearances by the cast of Inside Out and Inside Out 2 and a pre-show with the Muppets for the very first time!
