The Firehouse is an attractive two-story brick building trimmed in white stone it has stood proudly to the north of City Hall since opening day.Displayed on the ground floor is the fire department horse-drawn fire engine. This beautifully appointed red wagon was one of the original Main Street vehicles.In the summer of 1960 the horse-drawn wagon was withdrawn from service and permanently parked inside the fire department where it has been on view along with this place of actual firefighting equipment a pot belly stove and antique fire extinguishers ever since.Although kids aren't allowed to play with any of the displays they are encouraged to climb on the fire wagon.
Walt's apartment is located on the second floor.
The fire pole extended from the Fire House up to Walt Disney's apartment until it was blocked off due to someone climbing up it into the apartment
