Now through Jan. 7, the Disneyland Resort celebrates the holidays with festive decor, new food and beverage items, and the return of seasonal spectaculars.

Merry Treats

Disney Festival of Holidays at Disney California Adventure Park offers flavors and traditions from around the world, inspired by an array of cultural celebrations including Christmas, Navidad, Hanukkah, Diwali, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day.

The Festive Foods Marketplace is back with favorites from years’ past as well as new drinks and dishes to sample at the eight pop-up booths scattered across the park. Purchase items individually or consider getting a Sip and Savor Pass with eight entitlement tabs you can redeem for sweet and savory bites as well as nonalcoholic beverages.

New savory options this year include a barbacoa tamal de res, Impossible chicken curry bites with lemon raita, and a togarashi karaage chicken slider with furikake mayo slaw. New desserts include a Mad Santa macaron (chocolate macaron filled with ganache, peanut butter mousse, and salted pretzels) and a chocolate tart topped with Twix cookie bar pieces. Additions to the drinks category are a Glacier margarita with Blanco tequila and blue curaçao, a Churro Ale from Garage Brewing Co., and a spiced pear mule.

Holiday-themed dishes are also available at dining locations throughout both parks. Try the peppermint sundae at Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, the pulled smoked turkey Celebration potato at Troubadour Tavern, and the chocolate mint shortcake at the Plaza Inn.

Snow and Shows

“A Christmas Fantasy Parade,” character photo opps, musical performances by acts such as Blue13 Dance Company and Phat Cat Swinger, Mexican folklórico dancers, photos with Santa Claus, the “Believe…In Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular, and the “World of Color – Season of Light” nighttime spectacular are just some of the holiday entertainment options guests will experience this year at the Disneyland Resort.

Plus, “snow” is scheduled to fall each night in select areas of Disneyland Park. From Nov. 24 through Dec. 31, you can also see “snow” fall in the Downtown Disney District between Jazz Kitchen Coastal Grill & Patio and Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes.

A New Look

Every holiday season, Mickey Mouse and friends don news outfits to celebrate the occasion. This year, they put a spin on the traditional red and green with midcentury modern-inspired outfits.

Guests will also see decorative touches throughout the resort such as the snow-capped Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle, the giant gingerbread house at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, grand Christmas trees, and holiday overlays of rides such as Haunted Mansion Holiday, “It’s a small world” Holiday, Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl, and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree.

Something Extra

Today also marks the opening of the Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson. The reimagined walk-through attraction pays tribute to the original treehouse built by Disney and his Imagineers in 1962 in honor of the film.
