The traditional standby queue for Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion has reopened after a months-long renovation.
Since January, crews have been working on an expanded outdoor queue and new store, all expected to “build on the story and lore of the Haunted Mansion.”
Guests waiting in the queue will see new additions like gardens guarded by a pair of stately ravens and the crouching figure of a cat tucked away in the grass as if it’s ready to pounce.
Visitors will also see the personal garden retreat designed by Master Gracey, one of the mansion’s longest inhabitants. The expanded queue also has dedicated spaces for Madame Leota, the mansion’s seer, and the mansion’s ghosts.
Haunted Mansion fans can also see the pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse on the attraction grounds.
The expansion is a welcome addition for guests since the walkways in New Orleans Square, where the Haunted Mansion ride is located, can become congested.
Disneyland guests using a mobility device can now use the main queue and entrance to the attraction. After riding, they will leave the ride using a new, accessible elevator exit that features a gallery of original Imagineering artwork and more.
Disneyland cast members used to temporarily stop the attraction to help guests use a mobility device to board and exit it.
The new retail location adjacent to the attraction’s exit, Madame Leota’s Somewhere Beyond, is expected to open this winter.
The shop will be home to Haunted Mansion and “Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” merchandise.
Magnolia Park, the area between Tiana’s Palace restaurant and the Haunted Mansion, also recently opened after renovations.
Haunted Mansion Holiday overlay will be available throughout the holiday season and early 2025.
Holidays at the Disneyland Resort run until Jan. 6, 2025.
