The Black Spire Outpost streets will be bustling next month whenever Disneyland plays a Star Wars double feature with back-to-back nighttime spectaculars during an upcoming festival celebrating the Skywalker family from the epic cinematic saga.

The new “Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga” nightly projection show in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland will debut on March 28 during the launch of the Season of the Force seasonal event. “Shadows of Memory” will be paired with the “Fire of the Rising Moons” fireworks show on select nights.

“Shadows of Memory” will present moments from the Skywalker saga using projection effects on the Batuu rockwork paired with music from Star Wars symphonic scores by composer John Williams.

Concept art shows the typically grey spires above the docked Millennium Falcon spacecraft bathed in projections that will cover the rockwork in lush green vegetation with five cascading waterfalls as a silhouetted couple holds hands in a golden glow.

The Skywalker Saga includes all three Star Wars trilogies original (1977 to 1983), prequel (1999 to 2005) and sequel (2015 to 2019) that tell the stories of Anakin, Luke, Leia and Rey.

The prequel trilogy (Episodes I-III) follows the rise of Jedi Knight Anakin and his fall to the dark side as Darth Vader.

The original trilogy (Episodes IV-VI) tells the story of Anakin’s son Luke as he becomes a Jedi Knight, fights the Galactic Empire and saves his father from the dark side with his sister Princess Leia Organa at his side.

The sequel trilogy (Episodes VII–IX) focuses on Rey Skywalker who adopts the family name after battling Leia’s son Kylo Ren, who turned to the dark side.

A Luke Skywalker meet-and-greet character will make appearances in Galaxy’s Edge for a limited time during the Season of the Force event.

Kylo Ren and Rey are already regulars on the Star Wars planet of Batuu, the setting for the 14-acre land at Disneyland in Anaheim. No word yet if Anakin and Leia will soon join the Skywalker family in Galaxy’s Edge.

The best place to watch the “Shadows of Memory” projection show will be in front of the Millennium Falcon near the entrance to the Smugglers Run attraction in Galaxy’s Edge.

Disneyland has not yet announced showtimes for “Shadows of Memory” but the projection show is expected to play before or after the “Fire of the Rising Moons” fireworks show at 9:30 p.m.

The Star Wars-themed fireworks show celebrates Black Spire Outpost’s freedom and honors the heroes and legends who have walked through the streets of the outer rim village.

“Shadows of Memory” will play nightly while “Fire of the Rising Moons” will continue playing on nights when Disneyland has fireworks.

The “Shadows of Memory” projection show will continue after the Season of the Force seasonal event comes to an end on May 11.
