From Steve Birnbaum brings you the best of Disneyland 1982:
Anyone who contends daily with the Southern California freeways may find it difficult to get excited about queuing up to steer these small, streamlined sports cars around on an equally pint-size highway. But youngsters absolutely adore the trip and can spend hours driving these Mark VII-model 10-foot-long, 1,100-pound vehicles along the twisting roadways here. To someone used to steering nothing more powerful than a bicycle, the top speed-seven miles an hour-comes as a big thrill. Engines are one cylinder, four cycle, air cooled, and made of cast iron, with seven horsepower each. As for the difference between the Fantasyland Autopia and its Tomorrowland counterpart, it's mainly one of scenery. Many adults find the trip on the former marginally more interesting because there seem to be more overpasses and bridges en route. You must be at least 52 inches tall to ride.
Became Rescue Rangers Raceway from March to November 1991.
