Though the attraction doesn't exactly retell the movie's plot. Elements of the film are reprise throughout. The cars are namedafter key characters. Most of the movies characters actually appear during the 2-minute trip. J. Thaddeus Toad's own home isthe rides preliminary racetrack and toads madcap movie energy propels the whole Disneyland adventure.
A colorful mural in the loading area foretells some of the hijinks to come. After boarding a stylish but uncontrollable little antique car riders immediately careen and crashed through the hallways. The judge, cop and Farmer are voiced by Corey Burton. Bill Martin did the ride layout, Claude Coates drew the interiors, Ken Anderson designed the sets and of course Bob Gurr built the vehicles
Tearing off across the English Countryside their destination nowhere in particular their goal unbridled merriment the most astonishing portion of the ride is its fiery ending after a rollicking romp through the London Streets, a police chase, a courtroomtrial and a prison getaway.
The whole frantic escapade is brought to a sudden crashing halt by the scary approach of a noisy train and guests wind up in Hell literally a blazing demon populated hell. Perhaps the finale is a warning. Drive recklessly like toad and you'll suffer dire consequences. But it is so unexpected it probably evokes more laughter than fear.

The wild ride is housed in a rectangular building that shared with Alice in Wonderland. In fact Alice's caterpillar vehicles crawl up to the second floor above toads tracks. There is a shadow of Sherlock Holmes Complete with pipe and cap in the second-story Mr. Toad's theme came from Disney's half-hour animated movie The Wind in the Willows from 1949, which is based on the classic Kenneth Graham book.
