The time period of Tomorrowland is in the year 1986. This is the year when Halley's Comet is due to return.
This was a diorama made by great artists, Peter Ellenshaw and Claude Coates. It was a walk-through which gave you a view of the earth from outer space.
In reality the painting was what North America looked like from 90 miles above
