The Observatron was added during 1998 major Tomorrowland remodel while it was new to Disneyland The Observatron wasn't new to the Disney canon.A similar device had already been operating at Disneyland Paris a futuristic kinetic sculpture that looks like a screwdriver mounted to the top of dish antennas.The Observatron sits above the old People Mover loading area.According to Disneyland the Observatron signals the quarter-hour with an impressive array of movements lights and vibrant music.
