Silhouette Studio Secrets:
From WED Disneyland Dictionary 1968:
Features artists who create and frame silhouettes of guests.
From Steve Birnbaum brings you the best of Disneyland 1982:
Working at the rate of about 30 seconds per portrait, Disneyland's silhouette artists are a wonder to watch. They have end- less patience, terrific senses of humor, and a sense of showmanship that make queuing for a turn almost as much fun as receiving the final product. Horses, cats, dogs, and departed loved ones (scissored according to a careful description) have all been portrayed over the years. The art form itself, made almost obsolete by the invention of the camera, was developed in the mid-18th century by a French finance minister named Etienne de Silhouette.
