Frontier Trading Post Secrets:
From Steve Birnbaum brings you the best of Disneyland 1982:
A big cigar-store Indian stands at the entrance to this rustic-looking establishment next to the Frontierland Shooting Gallery and opposite the Davy Crockett Arcade. The wares all have a Wild West flavor. There are enamelware plates and pots the likes of which chuck-wagon cooks might once have used, fancy belt buckles and lots of turquoise jewelry, plus Western-style ashtrays and tea kettles, bandannas made of bright cotton, blue-jean mugs and butter plates, carved wooden figurines, and the kind of satin neckerchiefs seen at rodeos on Saturday night. Most amusing of all are the toiletries Colonel Ichabod Conk's Scalp Sauce for the Balding Man (containing sunscreen and GUARANTEED NOT TO GROW HAIR, as the label proclaims, BUT TO MAKE YOU FEEL SO GOOD YOU WON'T CARE) is just one of the offerings. And because this Western shop is not just any old Western shop, some of the leather goods bear the likenesses of Mickey Mouse and his friends.
