The Blue Bayou restaurant in Disneyland’s New Orleans Square will begin a soft reopening in early June, according to Disney officials.
The restaurant, which closed for refurbishment on April 21, will initially reopen for dinner only. A podium will be in front of the restaurant when it’s open and guests can inquire about dining opportunities. The Blue Bayou will resume accepting reservations in June; guests should check the Disneyland app and website to see if reservations are available.
The popular restaurant serves cajun-creole cuisine such as jambalaya and gumbo in an ambiance of twilight on the bayou, with croaking frogs and fireflies. The Blue Bayou began serving alcohol in May 2021, when it reopened about a month after the park did following a 412-day closure prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Blue Bayou adjoins the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, which closed for renovation on March 14 and will remain closed through June 30, according to Disneyland’s website.
Update: An earlier version of this story had a different date for the Blue Bayou’s soft reopening.
