A Disneyland Legend over two decades long has established Billy Hill and the Hillbillies as one of the park's most lasting and popular forms of entertainment mixing Bluegrass tunes with slapstick humor. The group began as The Barley Boys: Barley, Charlie, Farley, Gnarly, Harley and Ed hosting pig races and entertaining guests at Big Thunder Ranch during the 1987 State Fair promotion A year later freshly renamed Billy Hill and the Hillbillies the brothers all of whom are called Billy move their guitars banjos fiddles mandolins harmonicas and base to the outdoor stockade area of Frontierland.
