Castle Candy Shoppe Secrets:
From Steve Birnbaum brings you the best of Disneyland 1982:
Somehow a day in Disneyland without candy is like a day in Southern California without sunshine. Despite management's solicitous attention to health-food fans who want to be able to order salads at the fast-food restaurants, Disneyland is simply full of sweets. The Castle Candy Shoppe, which may emerge in a somewhat modified guise (or location) after the opening of the new Fantasyland, is just one of nearly a score of spots designed to satisfy the most insatiable sweet tooth. Here, lemon drops and Boston baked beans, rock-candy swizzle sticks and red hots and lollipops, Callard & Bowser goodies, sour balls and spice drops, fudge, candy sticks in all flavors, and other treats are dispensed for eating on the spot or for judicious munching along the way. Those who eschew sweets are not forgotten: Sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, and raisin-nut mixes are also available.
