Glimpses of the old and historic Western movement of American history are provided to visitors of Disneyland in Frontierland.
The period of Frontierland is approximately from 1810 to 1860, but flags flying over Frontierland encompass the period from the establishment of our union of states under the Constitution through the post-Civil War era.
When the small log cabin store first opened in 1956, it was the Indian Trading Post, selling handmade jewelry and goods to complement the authentic Native American performances nearby.
When the entire land was gutted and turned into Bear Country in 1972, the store remained. With the addition of Splash Mountain in 1989, the store became the Briar Patch.
