Just about every Disneyland and Disney California Adventure restaurant and food stand has returned during the phased reopening of the Anaheim theme parks following the extended coronavirus closure — but there are still a few eateries that remain closed.
Carnation Cafe on Main Street U.S.A. and Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel are the latest Disneyland resort restaurants to set reopening dates with several character dining buffets also returning.
Goofy’s Kitchen reopens for breakfast and dinner buffets on Aug. 18 — with Goofy and other characters returning at a later date. Carnation Cafe will be back in business on Sept. 16 for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Disneyland’s Plaza Inn will host a Minnie & Friends breakfast buffet starting Aug. 12 while the Napa Rose at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel will offer Disney Princess breakfasts beginning Aug. 26.
Reservations for Goofy’s Kitchen, Plaza Inn and Napa Rose are available starting Aug. 11.
What’s still closed?
Fewer than a dozen eateries at Disneyland, DCA and the Disney hotels remain closed.
No food and beverage locations are open in Toontown — with Daisy’s Diner, Pluto’s Dog House and Clarabelle’s ice cream shop all closed. Those eateries are next to the former Gag Factory shop that has been torn down to make room for the new entrance for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway dark ride debuting in 2023.
The quick service Royal Street Veranda and Troubadour Tavern at Disneyland and Boardwalk Pizza & Pasta in DCA also remain closed.
DCA’s Alfresco Tasting Terrace will close on Aug. 16 to retool the Legacy Passholder exclusive location into the Magic Key Terrace — which will become a keyholder exclusive eatery. No reopening date has been set for Magic Key Terrace — but annual passes go on sale Aug. 25. Expect the renamed terrace above the Golden Vine Winery to return soon.
Outside the theme park gates, Steakhouse 55 at the Disneyland Hotel and PCH Grill at Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel have permanently closed. Disney has not announced when the Surfside Lounge fast-casual restaurant and the grab-and-go Sand Bar will reopen at the Paradise Pier Hotel.
