The end is near for Disneyland visitors tired of huffing and puffing along the nearly mile-long tram route between the parking garages and the front gates as the Anaheim theme park prepares to bring back the trams that have been out of commission since March 2020.

Tram service between the Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking garages and the front gates of Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will return in early 2022, according to Disneyland.

Disneyland continues to slowly add capacity and make operational adjustments during the phased reopening of the resort, according to Disneyland officials. The Anaheim theme park will conduct maintenance on the parking trams and rehire staff during the next few months.

Furious Disneyland fans have taken to social media to vent their anger and frustration at the continued tramless tram route — calling the “death march” an “absolute killer.”

“The walk back to parking from Disneyland is brutal,” Joanna Marie wrote on Twitter. “Bring the trams back ASAP.”

The parking trams will provide Disneyland guests with additional options in how they access the theme parks, according to Disneyland officials.
