While many amusement parks have opened up and closed down soon enough, Disneyland remains sustainable and popular while celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.

The popularity of this fantasy land has been consistently maintained for both adults and children "despite shifting demographics, the rise of video games and all the other societal changes that have sunk so many other businesses".

Disneyland has been the great survivor and an extremely successful enterprise because it discovered certain secrets and formulae about which other businesses have no clue.

In June 2015, for instance, the Walt Disney Company has publicly announced it is considering a $1 billion-plus expansion of the Disneyland Resort, which would bring unknown new attractions, a new parking structure with at least 5,000 parking spots and other improvements to the Southern California-based theme parks.

It had speculated at that time that Marvel and Star Wars rides might be around the corner. And that has just happened with the reimagined Super Hero HQ set to open on November 16 in the Tomorrowland Expo Center at Disneyland park. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will be making his Disneyland Resort debut in a heroic new character greeting location, where you can snap a photo, grab an autograph or just thank him for keeping us safe from the likes of Doctor Octopus and the Green Goblin!

What is the edge Disneyland has over competitors that enables it to be both profitable and sustainable? Entrepreneur magazine notes that everyone working at Disneyland is called a cast member. "As a cast member, employees know that their "performance" is being viewed by the "audience" all the time.

"Disneyland will never be completed. It will continue to grow as long as there is imagination left in the world," declared Walt Disney on July 17, 1955, the day Disneyland opened.

The planners at Disneyland are constantly making innovations and they are not afraid to shut down rides, redo them or replace them. Change is the only constant in Disneyland; change that cuts across time, space, content, presentation and a wide array of audiences. "Disneyland will never be completed" - is a central guiding principle of the company.

In Disneyland, no detail is overlooked, to the point that not even a single stray piece of garbage will litter its streets, Entrepreneur points out. This attention to detail to the various themes throughout the park is what makes visitors fall in love with the experience.

Disney officials said they don't know potential rides, themed lands and other details yet, but said construction would begin by late 2017 and wrap up no later than December 2024. The company now owns the "Star Wars," Marvel and Pixar franchises and has other options such as banking off its "Frozen" blockbuster. Disney has elbow room inside the two Anaheim parks.

"California Adventure has approval for 3 million square feet of theme-park space but has used only 900,000, according to Anaheim's master-plan agreement with Disney. Disneyland already has used 2.6 million of its 3.5 million square feet available, city records show," the Register added.

Disney is one of the most valuable and powerful brands in the world with a clear vision that is powerfully communicated across national boundaries. This is what leads Disneyland, now celebrating its 60th anniversary, to project great expansion and development plans over the next decade.
