The Millennium Falcon spaceship that will be the centerpiece of the new Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge land is beginning to take shape at Disneyland, based on recently released aerial images.

NearMap aerial images taken on Sept. 30 above the Anaheim theme park show the distinctive wireframe outline of the Star Wars galaxy's most iconic ship emerging amid continuing construction. Aerial images shot in July showed a plot of dirt where the Millennium Falcon now stands.

Once complete, the full-sized Corellian YT-1300 light freighter will be docked within a semi-circular spaceport at Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge.

The aerial images provide a panoramic view of the 14-acre themed land as it takes shape at the northern edge of Disneyland. The imagery shows exterior panels being installed on the skeletal structure of the Millennium Falcon and much of the rock work finished throughout the land.

The Millennium Falcon ride at Galaxy's Edge will put riders in the cockpit of the fastest ship in the galaxy as they battle Imperial tie fighters during a mission to bring back a pile of loot to a vengeful space pirate.

The new themed land will be set in the Black Spire Outpost on the remote planet of Batuu, located on the outer rim of the Star Wars galaxy.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens in summer 2019 at Disneyland in Anaheim and fall 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida.
