Crews have completed exterior construction of the Millennium Falcon spaceship that will serve as the centerpiece of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge when the themed land debuts at Disneyland next summer, according to recently released aerial images.

All that's missing now is some blast damage and the fastest hunk o' junk in the galaxy will be ready for its close-up. Aerial photos taken by James Baker of Rogue Aviation show the most iconic ship in the Star Wars universe docked within a semi-circular spaceport in Galaxy's Edge. The co-owner and chief pilot of the Costa Mesa-based helicopter flight school and aerial film production company

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge opens in summer 2019 at Disneyland in Anaheim and late fall 2019 at Disney's Hollywood Studios near Orlando, Florida.

Aerial images shot in July showed a plot of dirt where the Millennium Falcon now stands. In late September, the distinctive steel wire frame of the Millennium Falcon surrounded by cargo containers was visible in aerial photos taken by NearMap.

Now the exterior of the full-sized Corellian YT-1300 light freighter is complete, according to aerial photos taken by Rogue Aviation.

Armor plating now covers the exterior of the spacecraft. The ship's distinctive docking rings, heat exhaust vents and forward mandibles are in place. A sensor dish pokes up from the top of the freighter. The cockpit where Han Solo and Chewbacca piloted the fastest ship in the galaxy extends off the main body of the spaceship. The cargo containers that once surrounded the wire frame ship are gone.

After months of work, the docked Millennium Falcon rests peacefully beneath faux trunks of towering petrified trees and scaffolding-covered circular buildings amid continuing construction in the 14-acre Galaxy's Edge themed land.

Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run at Galaxy's Edge will put riders in the cockpit of the iconic ship as they battle Imperial tie fighters during a mission to bring back a pile of loot to a vengeful space pirate.

The new themed land will be set in the Black Spire Outpost on the remote planet of Batuu, located on the outer rim of the Star Wars galaxy.
