As quarantine restrictions start to relax across the country, the itch to get as far away from your home might be the first thing on your mind. What’s a better place to unwind than the fantasy world of Disneyland?

Here’s what you need to know if you’re looking to escape to Disneyland this summer.

July 17th?? As of recent, July 17th is the new reopening date for Disneyland, based on the rumours buzzing around on the internet. One of the main talking points is that this date would coincide with Disney’s 65th anniversary. It would make the perfect date for reopening the park and would surely entice visitors to witness the anniversary celebrations. The 60th anniversary featured the extravagant debate of the “Paint Night Parade.”

While those are just speculations, other facts support the claim. Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel, and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel recently announced that they would no longer be taking new reservations until July 15th. Another sign the rumours are taking hold too for supporting a July 17th opening.

In a theme park column, Josh Spiegel of SlashFilms wrote about his thoughts on the July 17th speculation.

“We’re all exhausted, we’re all angry, and we all need a brief bit of relief at this point. So, Disneyland! Let’s all head over there, right? Walt Disney World, as you no doubt have heard, is reopening in mid-July (as far as we know). And Disneyland’s 65th anniversary is coming up on July 17. It’s entirely possible that the anniversary is going to be the opening day, because Disneyland now has pushed back hotel reservation dates to July 15. The previous date was July 1, but now it’s inched much closer to the 17th. Fingers crossed?” On July 11th Disneyworld plans on opening Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, followed by Epcot and Hollywood Studios on the 15th.

Here is what CEO Bob Chapek had to say. “Disney opens a little later than others — we open up with not as many people inside our parks — but we do that on purpose because we want to build that trust in this new environment. It’s the new normal, and then take it from there. So baby steps every step of the way.”

Ultimately, time will tell. Are you ready for a Disneyland vacation?
