From 1956 to 1958 a sign on a tall wooden fence near the Opera House announce the new area called International Street was under construction behind the fence visible to curious guests through small viewing holes were photographs of what the street would look like when finished.According to the photos International Street would run parallel to the east row ofbuildings along Main Street lined with architecture in shops inspired by half a dozen countries. This was never built.
