February 1--Tony Baxter began scooping ice cream at Disneyland in 1965 as a college job and rose up to spearhead the creation of some of the park's biggest rides, including Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Star Tours. Now Baxter is stepping down from overseeing Disneyland attractions.

April 8--Mousketeer Annette Funicello dies from complications of multiple sclerosis

July 17--Disneyland celebrates it's 58th birthday

November 18-- Diane Disney Miller, who inspired her famous father Walt to create Disneyland, died in Napa, California at age 79. Miller's death resulted from complications from a fall she took in September.
